Pathway to the Dzata ruins

The Dzata ruins. The stones all came from Zimbabwe, carried on the heads of people.

Safety isn't a concern here.

This is a medium-sized spike... Everything can poke you in the bush.

Our car on the opposite side of the river.

Lake Fundudzi.

Our fellow adventurers.

Boys fishing.

This isn't a fun thing to find on a trek through the wilderness.

How we got across the river.

You can see Lake Fundudzi in the distance. That's how far we went.

Chicken heads and feet - a great surprise in the morning.

  1. Interesting chicken surprise. Research? Or someone's breakfast? The mountains are gorgeous - lucky you to have such an adventure! (please do not do it again!)Two of the mountain peaks look too round to be natural - any history on those? Love the cacti trees! And the South African version of Phil leading the kids on a research trip.
